initiative of promoting film culture in the state through weekend screening. This
weekend the Entertainment Society of Goa cordially invites you for the
screening of acclaimed films like “Shwet
(White)” will be screened on 31st
January 2014 at 5:30pm, “A PESTERING JOURNEY” will be screened on 1st February 2014 at 5:30pm and the
film “ANTHONY GONSALVES THE MUSIC LEGEND”
will be screened on 2nd February 2014
at 5:30pm, all the screenings will be held at Maquinez Audi-I.
Synopsis
SHWET
(WHITE): India/2011/

Synopsis: Shwet looks at
quantifiable and unquantifiable nature of pain. It interweaves the circumstances
of a farmer and filmmaker, who belong to different social spectrum yet their
fates are bound together.
A PESTERING JOURNEY: India, 2011, 52 min- Dir – K.R. Manoj
Synopsis - This
award winning film delves and takes the viewers on a voyage through
two pesticides tragedies in post independent India, “A pestering journey” is an
attempt to interrogate the legitimate forms and technologies of killing
available in a culture.
ANTHONY GONSALVES THE MUSIC LEGEND: India,
2011, 58 min-

Synopsis - Anthony
Gonsalves entered Indian film industry in 1943 as a violinist, became a composer,
arranger and conductor. He has around 250 films with approx 1000 songs to his
credit. He worked with many music directors including Anil Biswas Khemchand
prakash, Nausad Ali, S.D. Burman, Madanmohan, salil chowdhary, N.Dutta etc. He
knew Indian classical musicals wrote the same in western type notations. Performed
various shows of symphony he went to USA to teach music. Wrote 5 books with
notations on sitar, sarod, table, violin etc
